I was curious about how many users go beyond just purchasing and playing games on Steam, especially with features like Broadcast and Music. What are your thoughts on Steam adding these services? Personally, I plan to test Broadcast tomorrow to check its stability over time.

I allowed my friends to watch me play games via broadcasting whenever they wanted.

It performs effectively and offers a smoother experience than Twitch in terms of usability.

Since I use beta I used broadcast before it was in the stable version, it holds up well but in certain games that don't work well with the in-game overlay it was unstable as well, at least in beta days, I did't use after 3 days of testing, apart from me not being a natural at streaming. Music I know about but have never used it.

I occasionally use it for playing music. For better experience, I prefer software specifically designed for music, as they are more user-friendly.

I used the product twice during the testing period. One session was for Chiv (currently stable with occasional delays) and another for Outlast (no problems). I didn’t remember the delay setting.

I mainly rely on it for gaming. Others seem to prefer SteamOS or Big Picture Mode, but I believe their music and streaming options aren’t as smooth as YouTube and Twitch.

Your friend wants to watch your live stream, and you can say yes or no. If you agree, it will start automatically. The system functions well; I haven’t seen it end suddenly when asked. I wouldn’t rely on it as a substitute for Twitch via OBS. OBS offers more advanced tools that can greatly enhance your stream, while Twitch provides access to a larger audience than any single platform could offer.

It lacks the essential tools found in OBS, while Steam seems geared more toward gaming. It’s unclear if there’s a way to just stream without restrictions. During beta days, options were limited—either invite-only, friends-only, or public—but none of these were clearly presented. Streaming anything other than the title wasn’t possible, and the main focus was on the game itself rather than the stream.
