Sure to recap the points: HDD malfunctions aren't an issue—they remain a digital backup on your account. Yes, it can be sent as a gift via Steam if purchased. Steam truly represents love and life. Praise be to your Lord, Gaben.

Unless you compensate for everything you downloaded, it's unfair. From my perspective, that includes paying Autodesk, Adobe CC, and others. Even with bulk pricing, Autodesk remains around 1600 per seat, which is still quite high.

Alright, thanks. I was considering where to set up the PC—maybe move it to the living room once the upgrade is done. Besides having a backup plan, I thought Steam isn’t a good fit since it’s tied to Adobe/Autodesk, which feels more suited for work than personal use. Honestly, I’m just using it for office tasks and don’t get much from it outside that. I just got the copy, though. I told my cousin I won’t be able to play games for a while—maybe I’ll be stuck on a rock for a few months. A lot of games will be missed, but things should sort out once I’m back in the game.

The response was not very helpful. You need to install the game’s DRM and use platforms like Uplay or Steam to access it. After signing up, add friends to your list so they can send you copies or codes. Multi-DRM games work a bit differently, but you can still play on Uplay even if you use Steam. Steam is a leading service for digital purchases and offers great sales. GOG is another option with DRM-free titles as well.

It looks like he’s been steaming it, uplay will handle the download automatically, and yes, he really needs him as a friend—though I thought his friend introduced him.

He might keep pirating games, but maybe he should destroy his computer after being caught doing so before. The point of my response is unclear since his answer suggested he’s moving toward legitimate behavior. I value paying for games more—it reminds me of the Nintendo era, when saving up was necessary to buy that $60 title in Nintendo Power. It's about the experience, not just the end result. Regarding software, I’m happy cracked versions exist, offering a chance to try before committing when no trial is available. Sometimes they overpromise or deliver poorly.

He isn't responding to what I'm expressing. I'm counting on him to cover the past issues. Claiming it compensates isn't right; even if he starts paying now, the significant shortfall remains for those who weren't covered.

I used to be a regular pirate too. For years I didn’t play any games, but now I’ve started buying most of the ones I remember liked—especially the deluxe or legendary versions. What changed my mind was wanting to back the developers so they’d keep making more games in the future.

I know the downsides of being a pirate. I can enjoy playing games for free, but there are no multiplayer features—just single-player only. There’s also no support at all. Still, I won’t have time to play until the Steam summer sales come around. Haha!
