Steam problems appear when using the Steam Link after installing 2080 Ti.
I recently upgraded my GPU to a 2080 Ti and attempted to use Steam Link with Resident Evil 2 Remake, but encountered some problems. The game doesn’t appear in 4K compared to my 4K LG monitor—it looks very poor. My TV is a 2018 Samsung that supports streaming in 4K. Before connecting, the Steam Link settings were set to 'Balanced' and 1080P; I changed them to 'Beautiful' and 4K. When selecting my PC, the TV displayed Big Picture Mode, but I went to its settings and found the 'Target Resolution' was 1080P with no 4K option available. In Big Picture Mode settings, the GPU was detected as 2080 Ti 3GB. I played the game without Big Picture Mode and enabled the FPS counter, but the game still displayed low resolution (around 20FPS) and a poor visual quality, whereas on my monitor it runs at 60FPS.
Reset the steam connection, similar to a factory reset and starting from scratch, as the hardware changes may be causing issues. Ensure all updates are current and install the latest NVIDIA drivers before proceeding.
I removed and reinstalled the Steam Link app on my TV, but the issue persists. Drivers are current, and I used DDU since I faced signal problems on my monitor, which required deleting my previous AMD GPU drivers. I've attached photos of the settings for reference. Images 1-3 show the Steam Link settings screen before selecting a PC to stream, image 4 displays the settings in Big Picture Mode with a target resolution of 1080 and a 3GB display device, image 5 shows in-game performance overlay enabled.
