Steam marketplace for buying and selling items
He has many titles in his Steam collection that he hasn’t played yet. Some are never opened. I’m familiar with Family Sharing, but it might not suit me since he often logs in on my account. I’ve searched online, but the most recent answers I found are from 2013... they’re mostly outdated. The main issue is whether he can move games to my account. If not, could I purchase the next game he wants using my account and then swap it for something in his library that he doesn’t play?
That action is against the law. To provide someone with a game, it must be purchased as a gift and not in use.
Only steam cards are available for trading, not the games themselves. I might consider a refund, but most of the content is over two weeks old. Occasionally exceptions might arise, but trading games isn't allowed.
You're also able to trade games, but only after they've been redeemed or activated.
Purchasing games directly from the Steam marketplace is definitive. However, in gift scenarios you may choose to accept or send it back to the giver.
Thanks in advance. By the way, violating the Terms of Service isn't illegal or a crime. It's actually simpler to search for this than to answer my original question.
However, in OP's situation he cannot do so because he has already played it. It's like giving away the game without trading.
