steam lag

I have a fresh computer and downloaded Steam along with other software. However, my PC slows down when launching certain games, while it runs smoothly for others that require more power. I also own a used machine that’s two days old, and despite trying to reinstall Steam and the games, the issue persists. I’m unsure what’s causing the problem.

the laggy game is Teraria and Dungeon Defenders. I played for Honor on the highest graphics settings. I believe something might be off since Honor is developed by Ubisoft, and I’m now downloading Star Wars Battlefront 2 from Origin to test it.

I discovered an issue with my monitor connecting to my motherboard. I played a game before accidentally inserting the HDMI into the wrong port. I’m pretty confused, but it seems to work now.
