Steam issue with no audio and stuttering at 60 frames per second stopped working.
Like the title suggests, the setup is decent—Ryzen 9 5900X paired with RX 7800XT gives solid performance at 1440p Ultra with 144+ FPS. However, at 60Hz display, it consistently caps at 60fps. Even though the game runs smoothly at that frame rate, there’s still stuttering. There’s no audio after the intro; attempts to adjust audio to 4800Hz didn’t help. In Fallout 4 settings, I disabled iPresentInterval but the issue persists. I turned off VRR and all FPS limiters, yet frustration grows as I spend more time troubleshooting instead of playing.
Checked the game files and considered reinstalling. Be sure to save your progress before doing so.
I might attempt to reinstall it again, since after the first install I accidentally unchecked the HD texture, forcing a download from scratch, which could explain the problems. The game was available on Xbox Game Pass, so I had to disable VRR, Anti Lag and set PresentInterval to 0 to stop the stuttering—though the audio remained consistent. However, when using the same settings on Steam, the issue persisted. I purchased F4 specifically for Steam to earn achievements, and it seems to have a large library available.
