You’ve updated your BIOS and encountered some problems. The issue with Steam is that it can’t find the games after the update. The games are still in the ProgramFiles folder, but Steam created a new library when you tried to download them. Also, Steam didn’t recognize the storage device initially. You’ll need to manually add it yourself. Consider checking your drive letter settings and ensuring the correct partition is selected. If needed, reinstalling Steam or using a different launcher might help.

The simplest approach is to paste one game into the new folder and test it. Avoid copying everything until Steam acknowledges the new directory. It’s best to keep only a single game for efficiency, then expand later. If it functions, you can replicate all and rename the old folder as SteamLibray.old, ensuring your backups are safe.

I recall doing something comparable once, though it was a long time ago. I’m not sure if things have changed or if my memory is accurate. You’ll need to tell Steam which folder you want to use, and it will use that one instead of searching automatically if the path is incorrect.

Are you using the same account as that person? You have full control over your Steam games folder location and drive. Just point Steam to the desired folder, and everything should work smoothly. No extra steps required. If anything is missing for the game, Steam will automatically install it. I've managed to keep Windows clean by wiping, reinstalling, swapping drives, and rebuilding systems—no problems ever occurred. Moving my library to new drives has become a regular task as my collection expanded.

I experienced a comparable issue and suspect I simply removed, reinstalled Steam, and redirected the files to a new location. The process seemed smooth initially, but afterward some registry changes remained. If I recall correctly, trying to launch the game from the updated folder worked, though it left behind unnecessary registry entries. It's been a while since this happened. I've observed that during installation, you often click repeatedly as your file system appears disorganized. What files are present on your C: drive? The only items permitted for installation on the root or Program Files folders are essentials; everything else, including my Steam library, should reside elsewhere. This setup makes it simpler to manage if you need to reinstall Windows or similar tasks.
