I've observed that Steam doesn't launch automatically even though it's enabled. This issue hasn't happened before. The concern arises if I forget to start Steam before playing Skyrim, even using SKSE; then the game updates despite warnings, which causes problems. As you noticed, it shouldn't be scheduled properly, but starting without Steam running leads to unexpected updates. This has happened multiple times with Bethesda's approach on AE and SE.exe.

Yes, I looked at the startup section in Task Manager.

Both were configured correctly. Thanks. It's weird how the Steam option actually didn't work.

You verified the functionality? It seems the Windows configurations override those of the application.

Yeah. I looked at TM and it said Steam was active, even though the icon wasn’t showing up on the taskbar like it should if I’d opened it manually. I launched Skyrim through SKSE with a tight grip. Loaded without any Steam alerts or messages about the game being outdated, everything worked smoothly.
