I mentioned this earlier last year, but it hasn't disappeared, so I'm sharing it again about this problem. ---------- My PC has two Windows 10 Pro installations on separate SSDs. After setup, I could install and log into Steam on each drive, staying signed in when starting either. Now, if I log into Steam on OS-1 and switch to OS-2, Steam prompts me to sign in again. The checkbox remains selected, but it's not functioning. Rebooting back to OS-1 makes Steam remember my login, yet it loses that info when switching to OS-2. Since both OSes run independently and don't share files, I'm not trying to stay logged in on both at once. That's not possible! I just want Steam to keep asking for a sign-in when I change from one OS to the other. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead!

It seems like a safety feature is in place. My laptop does the same. Whenever I launch Steam, it prompts for the password again. This happens consistently, not just after long periods or different sessions. If you switch devices instantly, it appears to log me out.

It seems like a protective feature. Many likely won't see it since they typically rely on a single PC or operating system.
