AM4 reaches its end of life, yet remains reasonably affordable. The performance gap versus AM5 doesn't truly warrant the cost increase, in my opinion.

I upgraded from a 3800xt to a 5800x3d, it paid off with my older 6950xt. You could easily get a 5700x3d/5800x3d and wait a bit longer until the 6 is released or a Ryzen 10000 really shines. It’ll just cost more to get an AM5 plus a solid gaming CPU than it does to have a 5700x3d. The 5800x3d isn’t enough for my 9070xt in many games, but that doesn’t mean I’m at a disadvantage—I still have strong performance. It’s only a problem with certain CPU-heavy titles like Hell Divers 2, where performance can drop significantly. My 9070xt is struggling a lot in that game during multiplayer sessions.

57X3D works only for basic gaming, not for anything else. I’d stick to AM5.

You can upgrade to AM5 and will require a new motherboard plus fresh RAM. The Ryzen 5 7600 offers excellent value for its performance, especially for 1080p or 1440p gaming.
