Here I am, using XP with a few issues—maybe a second graphics card would help. Windows 7 is working fine, and I’m on Windows 10 with three installations. EasyBCD isn’t picking up XP, anyone has suggestions?
Describes the process for adding XP. Involves setting EasyBCD to wait for user choice during startup. Allows manual selection of installed Windows versions instead of automatic defaults. Menu remains active until a selection is made. Updated on October 20, 2025 by BillBill
290 works adequately for XP. Up to 960 is acceptable and mod drivers are available for Titan.
Actually I looked at the article, and what is out there. That article for version 2.3, I am on version 2.4.
The process appears straightforward—just choose the drive and click the drop-down menu to finish. But I’m having trouble because the drop-down isn’t working.
Updating here, still needing your help! Great news—using Rufus let me install version 10, making it compatible with Windows 7 and XP during installation. Now when the PC starts up, I can pick any OS I like (thank you for the effort). However, I’m facing some odd issues when using version 10. If I switch to Windows, I can choose any OS, but when I’m on XP, I run into problems—my R9 290X graphics card isn’t getting drivers from ATI, and I tried a 250 driver, but it doesn’t work. After installing the drivers, I see an error about HDMI audio 2.1, yet the system still boots fine and changes without issues. After rebooting, XP doesn’t load Cata or ATI, and the monitor doesn’t adjust its resolution. Any suggestions?
