Your financial range, your nation of origin, whether you're creating original content, the titles you enjoy, and what you understand by "Productivity PC" are all important details.

I'm in Australia with a budget around $1200 AUD or up to $1300 AUD. I'm looking for a bit more overclocking and focusing on school projects like video editing and rendering. Your list at http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/JrbvP6 seems useful—what do you think?

It seems like you're satisfied with the result. There are no issues to address.

I won't be making major changes to a fixed CPU. A 'K' CPU would be necessary for overclocking. I'm going to attempt to improve your setup. It's decent, and I'll work to enhance it further.

The only suggestion is to use 2x8GB RAM for V.Editing.

Sure! I’d say it’s worth keeping a bit extra for an R9 390X if you plan to upgrade. As for the bottleneck point, it usually starts to show when the GPU struggles more than the CPU during demanding tasks.

I wouldn't choose the R9 390x, as it's essentially an overclocked version of the R9 390.
