Hi there, welcome back! I bought Witcher 3 on Christmas last year and only managed about seven hours of play. Since The Division and Smite kept me busy, I decided to give it another try. Here are my questions:

1. People suggest using health potions. How can I make them? Where do I find the recipe details? I’m tired of eating raw meat for food.
2. I’m currently at level 4. Which quests should I tackle next? Focus on those with levels 6 or lower?
3. The combat system—should I prioritize dodging or rolling away? Rolling away with energy makes spell use slower.
4. What’s the maximum level in the game?
5. Taking too many side quests might make the game easier if I level up high. Should I be cautious?
6. Where can I get weapons and armor besides the blacksmiths?
7. Any other tips or advice? This is my first Witcher game, so I’m really confused.

Thanks for your patience—I’ve checked other forums and had some doubts, but I appreciate your help!

They appear in alchemy; I’d recommend trying the Gourmet skill (any meal restores health for 20 minutes). There are side quests available that are five levels above your current rank. My approach is to rush through until enemies parry or perform two rapid attacks followed by a quick roll (LCLICK, LCLICK, SPACE). I’m not sure about the exact method—some sources say it was removed with the DLC, possibly around 50 or 70 levels—but I think the Witchout DLC is more likely. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be less demanding. You’ll need to visit Armorsmiths and Swordsmiths; just purchase armor from merchants and gather loot for weapons. Crafting won’t matter until you reach level 24 when Master Smiths become available. Just keep exploring, it’s been helpful for me so far. Feel free to ask if you have more questions!

There's a potion called Swallow that boosts your health regeneration in combat. The default recipe is already given to you, so check the alchemy tab. There are better versions of it (Superior, Enhanced, etc.), but you need to find those recipes. There's a general ability called "Sun and Stars" that regenerates your HP outside of combat and during daytime. It requires only one skill point and I usually suggest it to new players. Be sure to drag it to one of the slots after you get it. Other than that, consumables like food are the way to go. You should do side quests and monster hunts in White Orchard. Don't go to Velen yet, your level is way too low. It's hard to beat this game by only playing the main quests, especially on higher difficulties. It's usually better to dodge in most cases and combine with fast attacks. The cap is at 70 lvl afaik. Yes, overleveling for main quests is very possible. Don't go for quests that are for much higher level than you. There's a big chance of getting rekt. There are treasure hunts (most of them are on the questions marks of the map), but I suggest crafting Witcher gear. I want to mention that at early levels you should find as many places of power as possible since they give you ability points. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi...=453260742 This is a very good guide I've found. There are locations for the places of power and early Witcher gear diagrams.

Discover Armor and Weapons throughout the World. Their quantity exceeds what you can ever need. There’s no Lvl Cap—turn on Enemy Scaling for constant challenge (Deathmarch), only scaling up lower levels. Install these mods for the best experience.
