Check if Hakintosh supports your setup. Your system includes an i7 9700K, GTX 1080, and a Z390 Aorus Pro. You're using Windows and want to dual-boot into Mac OS. Confirm compatibility with the hardware and drivers.

It is compatible with macOS, but with one caveat: You can only run up to macOS 10.13 High Sierra. No Mojave, no Catalina, no Big Sur, no Monterey. High Sierra is the latest you get.

It's a good idea to back up your Hakintosh during updates. A 250GB SSD would work well for both the Hakintosh OS Plus backup and general storage needs. It’s definitely worth considering, especially with newer models like Monterey. The new configurations should support it without issues.

250GB SSD is sufficient. No. High Sierra barely supports older systems, making it mainly for making bootable macOS USBs and CD/DVDs (which I use with my Mac mini 2011 running High Sierra). EDIT: Mistaken. I don’t understand this part. No. It won’t work now, and never will. High Sierra is the highest version you can run on a 1080. Here’s a list of compatible graphics cards for macOS along with the supported macOS versions: https://dortania.github.io/GPU-Buyers-Gu...eries-7xxx. Keep in mind it’s inaccurate for RX 6000 support – RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT work with macOS 11.4. Updated June 21, 2021 by FakeKGB me dum

Ugh, looks like it's not a good idea to proceed with this. Thanks for explaining.

You can, but you're limited to High Sierra. HS is still well supported, but I wouldn't bother on your hardware. It's not going to support Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur or Mojave unless something major changes, and I doubt that'll happen. That's completely false.

You can utilize the 9700K with an iGPU for a newer setup. This requires exchanging the HDMI cable from your motherboard to the GPU, which is entirely feasible.
