I recommend continuing as scheduled. First, acquire a USB drive and install an antivirus program such as Malwarebytes. Allow Windows Defender to scan for threats as well. Execute the antivirus tools without linking to your network, and once finished, format the USB drive to remove any residual data.
Start the machine using a USB stick running Linux. Connect the drive through a SATA to USB adapter. You’ll be able to view existing files and decide what you need. This method is useful for moving data to someone else’s SSD with Linux installed. No viruses will interfere with the installation.
