I just purchased this setup for the first time. It was my first time installing Windows on it. MOBO: Asus Ranger VII RAM: 2X4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CPU: i5-4690 I formatted my 16GB drive as FAT32 and installed Windows 8.1 PRO from the official site. To boot from this drive, you should use the ISO file instead of a USB drive since you thought you could transfer it directly.

Upon starting the machine, a "Boot Option" button is expected, and pressing F11 should open settings for selecting the boot method.

ISO serves as a file for storing data on a disc.
2) No special formatting is required for the USB; the installer handles it automatically.
3) Choose the USB option when inserting it into a USB drive.

Convert USB to fat32 format, then transfer the entire Windows 8.1 ISO file into that USB drive. After copying, power on the device and boot from the USB.
