This began occurring recently. You might want to test another SATA port on the motherboard—either directly connected to the CPU or via the chipset—to see what works best.

Hey, replacing the CMOS battery worked perfectly. I think it might have fixed the BIOS settings that got reset after the battery died. Thanks for the tip!
