You’re facing a common issue during Windows installation. You don’t need to wipe all data from your drive—just choose the correct installation media (like a USB drive or DVD) and follow the prompts carefully. Make sure your new hardware is properly recognized before starting. If you need further help, let me know!

You might prefer to reinstall Windows because you can start fresh, ensuring no lingering issues. Alternatively, you could boot into Windows first, make a backup, and then perform a clean installation if needed.

It didn't offer that choice; it repeatedly redirected me to bios, making me think about turning on my PC.

Consider seeking a resolution first, whatever your preference may be.

Great news, I made it through and can now use my PC with the new hardware. I’m planning to reinstall Windows but want to do it safely without losing any data. When others suggest backups, they usually recommend keeping important files on a separate drive or using cloud storage. There are also options like system restore points or using a recovery drive if you need extra protection. Let me know if you want step-by-step guidance!

A new setup means losing all data on the device... OneDrive works well as a backup when you don’t need much storage. For others, an external hard drive is common. I rely on a NAS with a redundant RAID configuration.

He once claimed that the lesson in every tale was simply "always keep backups." It was eerily precise, though rare cases existed that needed searching for.
