Start dual operating systems pop_os and Windows 11 simultaneously
I have a 2017 HP 15.6-inch notebook, I don’t know the exact model. It’s running Windows 11, and I want to protect my data. Can I safely switch between Pop_OS and Windows 11?
It should be included in the installer. However, since I haven't used Pop!_OS recently, I might be mistaken. Still, starting it and running the live image shouldn't cause any issues. As usual, rely on the live session to verify everything functions correctly.
Windows 10’s update procedure could be disrupted by a dual-boot setup that interrupts the boot with a menu, and I’m skeptical they resolved this issue with Windows 11. A simpler solution is to install POPs on a separate drive (if possible) and place the boot loader on a USB stick. This prevents interference with Windows and lets you choose the OS by booting from USB. On some HP models, you might also use the UEFI menu, though it’s not very smooth.
