Starlink RV
Starlink RV
Because housing costs have increased, I now reside in the heart of cornfield country with extremely poor internet service. My connection is 10 down and 1.5 up. While the Starlink RV is recent, no one has reported its speeds under heavy network congestion. Regular Starlink isn’t expected again until 2023, so I’m hoping to move to a better location before then. Until then, I need something faster than the limited mobile hotspot data caps.
They provide complimentary returns (the hardware would still require payment for the one month of use), which reduces risk. The exact speeds aren't clear, but they're likely faster than 10down/1.5up, making it a good option.
I've noticed some folks on YouTube sharing their experiences with the original Starlink, especially using it on mobile before the RV version came out. Try searching YouTube—you'll likely find reviews from others who've tried it.
I've checked several reviews, though none reference throttled speeds in the RV model when traffic is heavy.
T Mobile and Verizon both provide home internet without data limits. It could be preferable or simpler than Starlink. For example, T Mobile offers a free gateway. The main drawback is that the service is linked to your address, so you can't take the gateway along with you when traveling.
