Star Wars Battlefront: A Near Victory Tale
Star Wars Battlefront: A Near Victory Tale
That sounds like a bit of a joke to me. I'm not impressed with Battlefront. DICE seemed to be limited in what they could do and had to cater to the general audience, releasing it before the movie. Today's AAA games are mostly about making money for investors. Companies like EA, Activision and Ubisoft don't really focus on game quality unless it benefits their shareholders. DICE is a talented studio with plenty of resources, but since they're part of EA, Battlefront didn't turn out well. I'm not experiencing any connection problems, but I'm worried about bugs. The map variety is low and the gameplay feels repetitive. I still play Rush on Battlefield 3, even though I own Battlefield 4. The combat feels clunky, and the shooting mechanics are off. Some weapons don't work properly. Overall, it's a major disappointment.
I mostly agree with what you said, especially about the balance of things and the flying part. The only real way to get a local game is by connecting with someone who has no problems. But it’s rare—only a few people are online, and most of my friends aren’t available.
It seems the flying mechanics were designed to be simple, but they ended up complicating things. They already had a great Jet system in Frostbite 3 (Battlefield 4), yet they opted for a basic flying setup that feels frustrating, especially with M+KB. The vehicles do have some appeal because they’re rare, but the real issue is that one person can always spawn and grab whatever vehicle they want, preventing fair competition.
