Standard distribution for everyday tasks and file organization
I have an extra laptop ready for installing a Linux distribution. It features an AMD Athlon 2 dual-core processor and 3 GB of DDR3 RAM. My current setup runs Fedora, but I’m looking for something more tailored to my needs. For some strange reason on Fedora, reformatting drives with partitions isn’t working. Unless all distros have this issue, I’d like a solution that works across any Linux OS. Based on these specs, it should be a lightweight system—no plans to upgrade the memory. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Fedora should handle that task. Have you explored gparted? For clarity, since I’m a Debian enthusiast, I’ll switch to Ubuntu, Lubuntu, or Debian whenever required.
