Hi, I'm setting up a PC for someone new to tech. They want a ready-made Windows installation without needing to download anything or manage disks manually. Would you mind if I checked how to do that?

Of course, to achieve this, I’d need to configure the system with their email and privacy preferences. While it’s possible to adjust these later, it seems like a surprise or gift, so I don’t want to require much effort from them.

Avoid configuring with drivers, make sure every software is available for all users (avoid saying "this user only" when prompted), launch sysprep, switch to audit mode and restart, delete the account you used to complete the setup, and have sysprep run with OOBE enabled (don’t select "generalize") followed by shutting down the PC. This way, they’ll receive all standard customizations right from the first power on.

I checked the audit mode settings, but I’m still unsure about entering OOBE and shutting down.

Begin SysPrep by launching it from C:\Windows\System32\SysPrep. Choose "Enter Audit Mode" in the system cleanup action and dismiss "Generalize". In the shutdown options, pick "reboot". Click OK to restart, then enter audit mode automatically. Wait for the sysprep app to appear. Hold off on any further actions. Remove the user account used during Windows installation. When prompted, confirm deletion of all related files. Return to SysPrep, select "Enter system out-of-box-experience (OOBE)" in system cleanup action, ensuring "Generalize" is unchecked. Choose "Shutdown" from shutdown options, click OK, and the system will power down. That completes the process.
