Stadia Controller functions correctly outside of Epic, operates seamlessly in other environments.
I use a USB controller connected via USB on Windows 11 24H2 for about a year. It functions perfectly with Steam, Epic, emulators, and other applications. Recently, my computer crashed, but I’m sure it wasn’t related to gaming. I can’t remember what I was doing at the time. I tried playing Vapire Survivors through the Epic launcher, but the controller stopped working. I reinserted it, rebooted, and it worked again in Steam. In Virtual Boy, PCE (TG16 emulator), and other emulators, it functions normally. Windows shows it as connected and working. However, Epic doesn’t recognize it. There don’t seem to be any settings in Epic Launcher affecting it. The issue appears when I add a game from my Epic Library as a non-steam title in Steam. It works fine then, but my save files don’t transfer properly. Anyone have any suggestions?
Sync all your saves to the epic cloud, remove the Epic launcher, scrub the registry if needed, clear %temp% files, restart your system, reinstall Epic launcher. If that fails, try the Heroic Games Launcher—it's a native Linux launcher with a Windows version. It works great on Arch, and you can organize your libraries here: EPIC GOG Amazon Games.
I own a Stadia controller and haven't encountered this issue before (with Steam games). Recently, within the past two weeks, Windows seemed to attach itself to the controller. When I open a command line terminal and click the controller, it suddenly creates a new tab in the terminal. I'm puzzled. It might be that something is grabbing the controller while you run a game through Epic. Right now, I'm trying to determine if any Epic Games titles support the Stadia controller. The answer is no. A possible solution is to open Steam and launch Epic Games Launcher. The reason the Stadia controller doesn't function is that it's not an XInput device but a DirectInput one. There are workarounds available. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Contro...Controller The simplest fix is to use Steam. Other DirectInput-to-XInput adapters could also help.
