Stable OC I7 4790K
Stable OC I7 4790K
I'm testing an OC of 4.7ghz with voltage at 1.280 and cache voltage at 1.160 while running AIDA64 under a stress test for CPU, FPU, and cache for roughly an hour. Everything is holding up well—maximum temperature reached 82°C, but it usually stays in the mid to high 70s. No throttling observed, voltages remain stable. I turned off speedstep and c states; cache ratios are around 40:1 at minimum. This is my first time doing an OC, so I'm curious about its long-term impact on longevity. Any advice or adjustments would be appreciated.
Hi fszova,
After securing all stable settings and being satisfied with the overclock, you can reactivate C-States and speed step to allow the frequency and voltage to vary according to the load.
Also, attempt to use an adaptive voltage or similar approach.
