Because of the ongoing war in my country and the fact that my wife and I are expecting a baby, I chose to switch from the regular PC to a laptop over the next 3-4 years. Until now, I was ready to buy an ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15 G533ZX, but while browsing a video of someone repairing laptops, they detailed how this model has serious issues—poor VRM cooling, overheating MOSFETs, and frequent GPU failures due to overheating. These problems mean that such laptops often stop working after a few dozen uses. You can see everything in the screenshots. I just want to know if there are stable laptops with similar specs but without these flaws. I don’t want to immediately lower the voltage after purchase, and I also don’t want to risk running anything more powerful than 720p on YouTube.

To provide you with relevant information, it's worth noting that when searching online, undervolting is often the approach used by component manufacturers to set strict limits on their parts. In reality, Asus and similar brands mainly focus on attaching components to PCBs; other demands come from companies like AMD, Intel, or Nvidia. If a device consumes too much power unnecessarily, it may be linked to these manufacturers. Regarding Asus and others, they also take responsibility for using lower-quality components (VRM parts) to boost profits, especially during the pandemic and supply chain challenges. You might want to explore options from Acer, Gigabyte, Lenovo, MSI, or Dell for a gaming laptop. Which site do you prefer for buying?

In this situation, I was discussing inadequate cooling in certain models (G733xx, G713xx, G533xx, G513xx), where the maker cut corners on high-quality cooling for crucial parts. For these devices, many of us believe they are only fit for playing YouTube videos at 720p resolution (1080p with a cooling pad if available).

I am seeking a laptop with comparable hardware and excellent, well-considered cooling. It should allow me to handle work tasks and occasionally run games at full power without worrying about my VRM memory, GPU, or even half of the motherboard failing. Ideally, it would eliminate the need to purchase extra RAM modules, a GPU, and spare motherboards simultaneously.

Personally, I’ve always favored PCs over laptops, but now circumstances have changed. I’m unsure whether I’ll choose between a PC or a laptop anytime soon. Perhaps in the near future, political unrest will force me to evacuate my city, and I won’t have the time or means to transport a large monitor, heavy PC, and all my gear. My priorities have shifted to family, my loved ones, and essential items that I can easily carry.
