Hey there! I'm trying to figure out why my file transfers over SSH are so slow lately. I've got a Raspberry Pi 4 running TwisterOS, connected to a 2TB HDD via a USB3-2 hub and using it as a NAS/cloud source. It's also running Debian Bullseye on my PC, and I'm connecting a laptop (Windows 10 via SSHfs/winscp) and a phone using SSHfs. About a week ago, the speed dropped to around 850 kb/s—still stable for what it is. I checked the drive-to-drive-transfer inside devices and saw no issues there. Anything that involves network traffic is acting up. The NAS-PC, PC-Phone, and phone connections are all extremely slow. My router shows full 1Gbit/s, but the internet speed isn't affected. SCP is just as sluggish. I remember reading somewhere that SSHFS is slow but SCP works fine, which matches what I'm seeing. I've checked my system logs and APT list, and I haven't installed or updated anything recently. I'm really hoping someone can help me out—any tips would be a huge relief! Thanks for your help.

The connection between Pi and the network involves integrating its data or signals into the system.

sshfs runs efficiently, far from being sluggish. The biggest issue is likely your network connection on the Pi.

It's been 16 hours since the issue started, and Linus was correct: posting your problem online or getting help usually leads to a quick fix. The problem isn't the pi, since the speed dropped even when transferring files from PC to phone. I thought restarting the router might help, assuming the network hardware was the issue. Now everything is back to normal at 30MB/s. Still puzzled, though—HDD + pi + wired should give more speed, but that's a number I'm okay with. Thanks for your input! #haveyoutriedturningitoffandonagain
