I just assembled my computer with an SSD as the main drive. During Windows 10 installation it shows no available drivers despite having the SSD. I checked inside and noticed a persistent red light on the SSD. My motherboard model is B450 Aorus Pro Wifi and the SSD details are Team Group MS30 M.2 2280 128GB. I’m unsure what to do next.

The controller is the chip the drive connects to. Your NVMe SSD links directly to the PCIe lane, lacking a separate unit. Legacy motherboards or server hardware usually include dedicated parts for additional drives or complex RAID setups. If your BIOS doesn’t recognize the NVMe device or it’s nonfunctional, that could be the issue.

You can turn it on by following the instructions provided, but first confirm if the drive is functional. Since it’s new from Newegg, check for any error messages or warning lights before proceeding.
