Device is a 2015 MacBook Pro with 11.4-inch display, 16GB RAM, no operating system. The SSD isn’t appearing in system diagnostics. I bought a used model from Goodwill where the drive was destroyed for privacy. I connected it using an Amazon adapter that converts Apple’s internal format to M.2, paired it with a 500GB Crucial P3 NVMe SSD (Gen 3 by 4), and tried everything. The drive works fine in external cases but fails inside the MacBook’s internal slot. I’ve booted into recovery, made bootable installers for different OS versions, but Disk Utility still can’t locate it. I also used a generic M.2 slot from another laptop, which worked temporarily. I’m hoping someone can help—this machine is still useful and I don’t want it to end up in a landfill.
