My issue matches exactly what the title describes. My SSD vanishes from Disk Management and File Explorer. I bought a Samsung 870QVO 2TB 560mb/s w/r SSD and sometimes after restarting or booting up my PC it appears fine, sitting in a basic volume with one file still inside. After a few minutes of browsing the drive it disappears completely, as if it never existed. I’ve restarted my PC twice and double-checked all connections—cables are fresh, other components seem okay. This has never happened before except with my two previous HDDs failing, and I’m not sure what to do. Some forums suggest replacing the drive with another brand, but the problem keeps returning. I found no valid links or solutions online. I’m considering taking apart my PC parts for reference but mainly want to fix it myself before heading to a hardware store. Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z490-E RAM: 2x16 GB DDR4 CORSAIR 3200MGHZ GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1660 6G VRAM CPU: I-9 1085K 3.60GHZ Storage: SAMSUNG SSD 980 PRO 1TB 7000MB/S Quick Update: I swapped the outgoing SSD, the QVO 890 Samsung, and it still disappears. I’ve only changed the GPU and SSD recently. As far as I understand, all necessary drives are installed and the issue continues. Updated July 9, 2021 by TVillasenor
