SSD and motherboard are clashing, causing Windows 11 installation issues :(
Hey! I revisited that old discussion about Windows installation problems, but I still didn’t grasp the full picture. Now, during Christmas my brother got a new PC, and only the SSD and GPU (1070TI) were working. I’ve spent hours trying to figure out why Windows won’t install properly and why I’m stuck in a loop. When Secure Boot is turned on, it disables CSM, which blocks Windows 11 from installing. The SSD can’t be booted if CSM is off—it only shows up when using the USB with the install media. Installing without CSM disabled loops endlessly, and enabling it locks me out of a full setup. I’ve tried changing settings, enabling/disabling CSM, adjusting boot order, even using another hard drive, but nothing works. I also looked at the advice from that thread, but it didn’t help. I even tried installing on an old hard drive, which caused the same issues. Mobo : Gigabyte A520M H CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 4500
I don't have access to specific settings unless you provide more details about the platform or application you're referring to. Could you clarify which system or software you're asking about?
Press Del to access the UEFI/BIOS. Navigate to the Settings section at the top, then select SATA Configuration. The SATA Mode setting will determine whether it reads AHCI or RAID.
Attempted it before, but the issue persisted regardless of settings.
Yes, with secure boot turned on and CSM off, you should be able to boot into the Windows 11 installation screen.
It identifies the USB stick with the Windows installer, begins the setup process, but upon the scheduled reboot, it repeatedly cycles without successfully booting into the drive. The device can no longer start from the SSD.
