We’re keeping things focused with our Discord channel. When you purchase a combo package, you receive the complete experience: SQ42 (Episode 1) upon release and Star Citizen (PU). You also get the mentioned alpha and beta access.

I’m trying to choose between two combo options. Are you seeking something that balances transport ability with combat features? The Aurora Marque includes high-end lasers and a top-tier gun cooler, while the Mustang Alpha draws inspiration from Silas Koerner’s ideas—it’s a sleek, lightweight ship using advanced materials. Adding an optional cargo carrier to the Alpha lets you keep its performance strengths without losing space. How does this compare to the Aurora MR in terms of cargo capacity and overall utility?

As always it depends on your desired profession in the PU. Both feature the same cargo capacity but the Aurora can be upgraded to almost twice the size and has an open hardpoint for some missiles. The Mustang has better maneuvering, is faster, has its guns mounted on a turret (so they will follow your mouse) and has open hardpoints for 2 additional weapons (which can not be fitted to follow your mouse). Plus the Mustang is about 5000 UEC more worth. So the Mustang is more of a closed system for combat and the Aurora is more open and upgradable for all kinds of mercantile. Edit: Do you know that there's a free flight going on, so you can test the game in it's current stage until Monday without purchase? The best way to get a feeling for the two ships is to fly them. The LN and The Delta are not these specific models but they are close enough to their smaller brothers. Maybe these will help you:

I wasn't aware of the free flight window. It's a shame there isn't a more affordable package that includes both ships and all games. No problem, but I really hope they would have kept the two games together—play as a civilian in MMO mode while also joining SQ42 in-game on the side (similar to serving part-time in military reserves) for single-player practice. This way you can improve your flying and combat skills and earn citizenship gradually.

It's a hidden feature or a reference to something old, depending on your perspective

Feel free to ask for corrections if needed. In SQ42 you'll be joining the UEE Navy, flying one of their vessels rather than your own. The pledge ships are likely reserved for the PU. My understanding is that they're meant for the PU, though I'm not entirely sure. It would seem unusual to be part of an elite fighter unit led by an aurora—though the Aurora could be strong in the right hands. Still, it doesn't quite match the UEE's usual approach.

It would be helpful to know the expected commercial launch timeframe. You're concerned about potential delays or price changes, so checking the release schedule early would ease your worries.

The current official designation for SQ42 is "Q4 2016." It's worth noting that although CIG excels in various areas, managing timelines isn't among their strengths.

The ship you purchase now is limited to South Carolina. Owning an Idris in SQ42 would feel somewhat unfair, wouldn't it? You could also add another ship as an extra but I'd suggest upgrading to an Avenger Titan instead—it's generally the stronger choice. As for when it launches, nothing is final yet, but given what we know, SQ42 seems mostly complete with just a few bugs and maybe some new assets. Star Citizen will likely take longer because they still need to develop many technologies and assets, avoiding the issues seen in ED. Rumors suggest it could be late 2017.

It seems SQ42 might finally be ready to play. If SC isn't here yet, I might just purchase it on its own instead of relying on those combined savings.
