I'm replacing the M/B in my server (with the same model) and am wondering whether my SQL License will transport or if it's tied to some secret info associated with the m/b hardware. I'm hoping the disks all move across intact. If it won't move transparently, is there a mechanism to abandon a license and move it? I see people selling MS licenses as "used" that come out of wrecked hardware, so there may be a method?

What specific license applies here?
Which details are included in your license agreement regarding this?

I obtained it two years ago and wasn't present, so I couldn't make an assumption. Likely not a volume license because it's for one machine in a small office.
