Speed reaches 100mb/s from 200mb capacity via ISP
hello I have a ac-1200 router and I have a question/issue I am only getting 100mb/s max speed out of the 200mb/s I have on my ISP, I went to the conclusion its because the WAN port on the router is only 10/100 and not 10/100/1000 meaning it cant actually reach more speed due to this bottleneck but I wanted to contact support to see if I'm correct and there is nothing I can do to get the full 200mb/s other than replacing the router with a better one thanks Product https://www.asus.com/Networking/RT-AC1200/
The 10/100 interface restricts your speed to 100 Mbps. A device with gigabit ports would be necessary.
They're right about the WAN port limitation; you'd need to upgrade the router for speeds over 100mbps. Looking ahead, rather than starting a new thread with fresh details, just modify the existing post in your original thread and include the updated info there.
