Speed reaches 100mb/s for the 200mb connection via ISP
hello I have a ac-1200 router and I have a question/issue I am only getting 100mb/s max speed out of the 200mb/s I have on my ISP, I went to the conclusion its because the WAN port on the router is only 10/100 and not 10/100/1000 meaning it cant actually reach more speed due to this bottleneck but I wanted to contact support to see if I'm correct and there is nothing I can do to get the full 200mb/s other than replacing the router with a better one thanks Product
It remains significantly better than the 90mbps you typically get with your "400mbps" service.
It seems your connection might be poor due to missing ports for high-speed data or because the provider is overcharging you. There’s only one way to see it clearly.
@NZgamer @pcandtech Yeah, what he said basically. Get a better router and see if it changes anything, although I find it odd how you still got 200 mbps in your speed test. Also, you should take it a step further and upgrade your service plan to 300 mbps. Comcast considers 300 the true minimum for online gaming, so that's what I'll go off of from here on in when giving advice. This is assuming you play online games.
