Hey everyone. I just set up my new gaming setup with a B550 Gaming Carbon WiFi. After connecting via Ethernet, I achieved peak speeds of 180 Mbps. Using the built-in WiFi 6 controller on WiFi, I got 380 Mbps. I ran the test twice using Ookla's speedtest client. The differences might be due to network conditions or settings—check your router configuration and ensure both wired and wireless paths are optimized.
Do you have the most recent Lan drivers set up? Are there additional devices such as switches or powerline adapters between your PC and the router?
It's strange, but the reported speed might not reflect real performance—sometimes it can fail completely if you approach it closely. I've tried using a shorter or alternative cable and saw similar results.
I used a 5-meter Cat 6 cable and it's currently connected to a 15-meter Cat 7 one.
