You're considering how memory speed and timing might impact your build. The video you saw suggests higher speeds can help with performance, especially at higher resolutions like 4K. For your i9-10850K, a 3200MHz RAM is decent but could benefit from a faster option if you're pushing higher settings. Going to 3600MHz might offer a noticeable boost, though it depends on your workload. Regarding memory quantity, buying two 16GB sticks instead of one 32GB can save money without sacrificing performance much. Timings matter less now since modern CPUs handle them well, but keeping them in mind still helps optimize stability and speed. Overall, it’s a good idea to balance cost and performance based on your usage.

They function similarly, matching in performance and bandwidth because consumer platform CPUs share just two memory channels. The 2x16 option also allows future upgrades if required. For specifications, a 3200 cl16/14 or 3600 cl16 kit should suffice for most needs.

I purchased the ASUS ROG Z490 E gaming and i9-10850 with an RTX 3080. The RAM is the final component I need to choose. Storage will remain unchanged, so I’ll just pick what’s available at the store. The 2x16 expansion isn’t necessary for buying two separate 2x16 kits; instead, there’s a 2x32 option available for similar pricing. Regarding the configuration, a 4x16 (3200MHz) setup should perform identically to a 2x32 (3200MHz).

They should deliver roughly the same performance if timings match, though it's unclear why 64 gigs is necessary unless the task demands it.

With a 64GB drive, I know 32GB is sufficient. I seldom reach that amount except when using Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Chrome—usually around 35GB.
