Speed issues stem from weak network coverage and high usage demand.
Hello everyone. I often check my 4G+ speed with my phone (Huawei P Smart) and usually see around 5-10mbps download, sometimes even lower at 2mbps or less. But I’ve also hit speeds over 60mbps. In the past week I completed more than 50 speed tests, at different times. Recently, during a test, I got 53mbps first and then only 2.1mbps. My concerns are: why these fluctuations? Why does the speed vary so much? And why is it generally slow? Could this be connected to COVID or increased usage? Thanks.
The cell tower shares its data capacity with all users connected to it.
There are numerous factors influencing the situation, such as current weather conditions, possible radio interference, the number of devices transmitting or receiving data with the tower, and more. You're not just using the tower's internet bandwidth; you're also sharing the radio frequency spectrum with others, which can change significantly. Additionally, people's inconsistent phone and tablet usage further affects overall bandwidth consumption.
