Never rely on Spectrum, particularly Spectrum Mobile. Their customer service is unreliable. They’re just as prone to offering harmful guidance as useful tips. Following their poor advice means no responsibility. It seems they believe their size and influence mean mistakes are acceptable.

Spectrum really isn't great, isn't it? They seem to dominate the market in Lexington, KY. Local officials are now examining their operations due to many complaints about bad service and high prices. They claim they offer no contracts and low starting rates, but they slowly raise your bills every six months without warning. We’ve only used their service for a couple of years—our monthly cost went from $45 to $74. I even threatened to cancel after calling them, but they dismissed me because we had no other choice. Our neighborhood is restricted during peak hours, making streaming nearly impossible between 5 and 7 pm. It’s been a real hassle for my wife and me, and there aren’t many alternatives nearby. Now they have salespeople pushing around Wal Mart stores here, and whenever I mention Spectrum, I just shake my head and say, “Yeah, unfortunately.”

Comcast operates similarly. Don't assume Spectrum is unique.

It's unfortunate in many parts of the US that the government has promoted monopolies. The UK faces some challenges, but fortunately our authorities compelled the main telecom provider to open their network, giving us plenty of options and allowing us to select service quality. We still encounter difficulties in rural regions receiving limited support, though every nation struggles with this as expanding high-speed internet is costly and hard to justify financially.
