I currently use a 1080p TV as my monitor and because there isn’t enough space, having a separate TV and monitor with my PC isn’t possible in my small bedroom apartment. With 4K becoming more common, 1080p might soon become outdated and difficult to get tech for. Right now I realize my setup can’t handle 4K gaming. My current rig is an Intel 1050ti with an i7 3770S, which won’t be able to play anything at 4K. The most intense games I own are Crysis 2 and Skyrim SE with mods. What kind of equipment should I consider to build a system that can comfortably run 4K for those games? Looking at the minimum requirements, I know the latest i7 and RTX cards could handle it, but that’s outside my budget.

my 1070 managed to run at 4k medium/high in older titles such as Far Cry 4, and I wouldn't lower it further. Another option is Vega 56, which is quite affordable.

Generally, it's not feasible to enjoy 4K on a 1080p TV without the right equipment. You'll first need a 4K TV or monitor, which typically costs around $300. Next, you'll require a 4K gaming PC, usually starting at about $300 for a basic setup. This price can drop if you purchase used components or take advantage of significant discounts over time on new parts.

Yeah. I play with a 1080Ti at 1600p and 4K. The key is understanding which adjustments won’t noticeably change the look.

For the OP, even on a 4K screen, you aren’t forced to render at that resolution. Depending on the game, I tweak settings until I get the visuals I like. Even when running at 4K, some settings barely make a difference.

2080 TI or two for smoother performance above 60fps. If graphics aren't important, just make sure it can handle 4k resolution.
