I'm studying at a graduate program. Campus Wi-Fi and LAN links are currently restricted for online games and some apps. I rely on my phone's hotspot via cellular data instead. While a VPN could help bypass these limits, I'm not motivated to set it up. The cellular connection works well with decent speed and low latency, possibly even better than campus VPNs. On Windows, I managed to connect my laptop to both networks at once—first the campus LAN (Internet) and then the phone's Wi-Fi hotspot. When launching an app, Windows seems to randomly choose the active network. It appears certain apps that were blocked by Wi-Fi might function briefly on Wi-Fi, but switch to LAN soon after. I'm wondering if Windows offers a way to map connection types to specific apps, so I could use Wi-Fi for non-campus apps and LAN for high-speed ones. Please advise. Thank you.

There seems to be a structured process: ncpa.cpl and the Advanced menu lead to settings. It might not be the simplest path, but launching a VM can help fine-tune network choices or access. Proxies could also be part of the setup.
