Sure, you can try using your Athlon 3000G as a dedicated streaming PC. Just make sure it has enough RAM and storage for smooth performance. Avoid heavy games or resource-intensive apps to prevent lag.

What hardware are you currently using? It’s likely you could invest more in a dedicated gaming setup than what you’d pay for streaming services. You could run a fresh Nvidia graphics card with NVENC and achieve great performance. A GTX 1660 Super with its Turing encoder would probably suit you well, or one of the newer Ampere models when their pricing becomes available.

I own a Ryzen 3 3100 + RX570, while your brother's Athlon 3000G is an older machine he no longer uses. I wondered if I could repurpose the latter as a dedicated streaming setup since my main PC's performance drops noticeably during streaming sessions.

I suggest the 1650 model at least. It offers poor value for its cost, and it employs a Pascal encoder rather than the more advanced Turing encoder.

I just placed an order for a Zotac 1650 Super Twin. I’m hoping it’ll perform well since I haven’t used their products much. For now, I plan to use my Athlon 3000G as a dedicated streaming PC, aiming for at least 720P60 without overheating.

Do you currently possess a capture card? If yes, what made you overlook checking its adequacy earlier?

I had some capture cards though I misplaced them. I didn’t test them before because I didn’t have a spare monitor for the second PC.
