I recently changed my CPU from Ryzen 5 3400G to a Ryzen 9 5950X. Updating the BIOS was straightforward. Now I experience minor stutters in games or continuous core load that happens every few seconds, making titles like Beats Absolutely unplayable. I’ve installed the chipset drivers and am using Windows. Anyone have suggestions?

It might be the VRM on your motherboard overheating or lacking sufficient power for the upgraded CPU. What model of motherboard do you have? There’s also a suggestion to turn off fTMP in the BIOS by chance, which helped someone else. Have you installed the latest BIOS version, or did you choose the minimum settings recommended by your motherboard maker? Your CPU cooler might not be making good contact, leading to overheating and stutters. Use HWmonitor (the portable zip file works without installation) to check temperatures. Did you reset the CMOS after installing the new CPU? If nothing else works, back up your data, reinstall Windows, and see if it resolves the issue.
Gigabyte A320M-S2H is running at 3.0 something after the latest BIOS update. One of the improvements noticed.
I'm checking options and everything should be ready in a few weeks.
