Speaking with top performance
I recently changed my PC to Windows 11 and the components. I’m unsure if this is the reason for the problems, but some games become very choppy when I play titles like Fortnite or Ghost Recon Breakpoint. In most other games I’ve played without issues, these two stand out. I haven’t seen any stutter in games such as Apex Legends, Batman Arkham Knight, Counter Strike 2, or Overwatch 2. After installing my new CPU and RAM, I updated the chipset and GPU drivers. Here are my system details: GPU – RTX 3070 CPU – Ryzen 9 5900X RAM – Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3600MHz (operating at 3200MHz due to motherboard constraints) Motherboard – Gigabyte A320M-S2H (BIOS F56f) Power supply – Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Operating system – Windows 11 (updated four days ago)
Consider lowering your CPU's clock speed. This outdated motherboard isn't designed for performance beyond six cores. The 5900X is likely to overheat, affecting power delivery and leading to stability problems.
I suggest running your CPU at a moderate speed, around 2.5 to 3.5 GHz, depending on your workload and system requirements.
Instead of reducing your clock speed, consider adjusting the PPT limit. You can also undervolt slightly to boost performance. This is straightforward in Ryzen Master. The PPT represents the maximum power the CPU can handle, so starting at around 85 and testing would be a good approach.
Also consider directing a fan toward the VRM initially; this frequently allows less-than-ideal VRM configurations to perform better than expected. Before cutting clock times, give it a shot.
It seems the A320 chipsets don’t support overclocking, so adjusting these settings isn’t possible. It might be better to look for a compatible motherboard instead.
