I was checking storage options under Temporary files to find ways to free up space. Then the Compress OS feature appeared, which I hadn’t seen before and don’t recall using. My drive is now 22GB—how big is that? Is it safe to remove it?

You can reduce the size of OS files to free up storage. Doing so requires more CPU power because the system has to unpack files that were compressed during installation. This could also slow down Windows startup time.

It's secure but not ideal for tech-savvy users. Changing hardware, reinstalling OS, using BitLocker, or restoring drives often aren't safe. Best suited for regular people.

Got it, I understand. Just confirming I unchecked that field—probably due to a recent Windows update, since it wasn’t available before.
