I was considering buying Space Engineers. It looks like an interesting game, and I’d love to hear what others think about it.

Absolutely, it's a solid start and they're planning to expand soon with more planets.

Consider applying it in a weightless environment.

has been available in early access for two years—developers began focusing on a different project that is also in early access, though I can't confirm details.

Engaging game with noticeable multiplayer delays and lag that hasn't been resolved. Abundant extra material available in the Steam Workshop. Generally developed by another team, same studio as DayZ—potentially more promising than it seems.

They should concentrate on the game that hasn't changed much in two years, at least significantly. I really need my $15 back!

I purchased the game quite soon for just ten dollars. Regarding the "it has been in alpha for 2 years now" part: There are updates every Thursday, although the development team is currently working on a major update: planets. Up to this point, I’m overall positive about the game, with the only drawback being the multiplayer mode. (They addressed one of the most problematic issues with landing gears in the last patch). They also mentioned that net code will be their next significant project after planets. I’d definitely suggest it, particularly if you intend to play with others.
