Sound waves above average volume via earbuds, keyboard delays detected.
Hey, last week my gaming laptop was running smoothly until I started hearing a strange high-pitched noise through the earbuds, even when nothing was running. Alt-tab would make the windows freeze briefly before switching, something that didn’t happen before. It seems the earbuds work on other devices and other earbuds have the same problem on this machine. No driver or OS updates were made that day, and I can’t recall any actions that might have triggered it. Audio drivers are current. Notably, turning off the USB mouse reduces the noise. Sometimes the sound vanishes when launching games like Minecraft or Rocket League. Someone suggested it could be a GPU issue, but I’m unsure what to do. Updating graphics drivers didn’t help either. What should I try next?
This problem appears intermittently, and it seems the GPU issue only happens when the noise originates from the PC itself—not what I experience.
