I assembled my PC last summer and roughly two months ago it began making strange crackling sounds. I’ve inspected all the case fans, but none seem affected by cables. Could you share any alternative suggestions? The noise is quite noticeable—please find the video and specs attached. Thank you for your help! ASRock B560 Pro4, Intel Core i5-10400F, NZXT Kraken M22 cooler, GIGABYTE RTX 2060 G.Skill Aegis, 32GB RAM, Power 9 500W ATX, 2.4GHz.

Your CPU cooler fans are failing. Note: Please verify if the noise originates from the pump. The NZXT Kraken X42 made a similar sound shortly before it stopped working.

I've already unplugged my HDD to see if it's the issue, but there hasn't been any change.

There might be a solution to address the issue. Otherwise, you may need to replace the cooler.

Verify if the noise originates from the pump. The NZXT Kraken X42 sounded similar right before it failed, but it wasn’t actually coming from the pump. If you still have warranty coverage, you can request a replacement from NZXT. I replaced my X42 with an X53.

The pump near the radiator appears to be connected to the fan, possibly originating from the top of the case.

I've confirmed it. The sound seems to come from the radiator or the fan inside it. Even when I briefly reduce the fan speed with my finger, it doesn't stop.

The next step would be to unplug the fans, but making sure you have next to zero load so there is no overheating, and see if the sound goes away. If it doesn't work keep unplugging/plugging things until you find the culprit...
