I have encountered one of the weirdest issues, when I'm playing rocket league there is a constant high pitched noise in my left ear that can be heard in game and alt tabbed. I tried playing around with the settings and somehow enabling v-sync completely gets rid of this sound. I tried to record the sound and it doesn't get picked up by the windows audio, but gets picked up by my mic somehow. Any ideas what this can be? I don't want to be forced to play with v-sync.

Probably a type of coil whine. It's only noticeable with the headset on. A specific part generates a frequency during high refresh rates, matching another cable's frequency and allowing it to be picked up. Since every cable acts as an antenna, you might want to test a different length.

Absolutely clear! The audio is still noticeable even without the headset, which is unusual. V-sync seems to be influencing this issue. Also, your DT 770 cables are secure and won’t come loose.

It might be GPU-related coil whine, but limiting FPS to match your monitor’s refresh rate resolved the problem.

The occasional buzzing at specific frame rates resembles coil whine, suggesting I might reduce the average and maximum FPS using caps rather than enabling Vsync. Nvidia/AMD interfaces offer this control, along with MSI Afterburner and other tools... to cap MAXFPS and minimize that whine. Running Quake1 Remaster at 1000fps as a test shows my 2080Ti is very loud (coil whine), but it drops to silence at 360fps.
