Hi, for about the past few days my games are stopping by themselves without me touching them. It started with Apex Legends, and every 15 minutes it crashes. When I tried downloading Call of Duty: Warzone to see if that happens too, it just shuts down again. Both games show this exact error code: Engine Error 0X887A0006 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. The PC specs are a bit complex but basically have an NVIDIA RTX 4070 (12GB), an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and some RAM with the brand G.SKILL. I've already tried reinstalling the graphics driver, changing power settings, fixing firewalls, checking temperatures which are actually okay for me, removing other programs, running as admin, and even benchmarked my machine recently while it was clean. The error keeps happening no matter what. Every time, even when my CPU is at 75 degrees and my GPU at 68 degrees (or sometimes 66), the game freezes or crashes. I had a different problem with CS2 where the graphics were tearing up badly but not shutting down like this. Do you think something specific could be causing this? Or are there other steps I should try, thank you so much for your help.

Welcome to the forums! Your BIOS is dated August 2023 and links are here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B650...FI/support You have pending updates. Driver number is 576.52 Go into your BIOS and turn off the graphics card inside. Then, use DDU to wipe all GPU drivers (for Intel, AMD, or Nvidia) while in Safe Mode, then manually install driver version 566.36 from the official site using an elevated command like Right-clicking the installer and choosing Run as Administrator. The computer was last reinstalled ten days ago. Where did you get your OS installer?

Got it, I'll let you know when that's done. This stuff comes from a PC, not the internet.

The update itself wasn't the problem. But reinstalling the driver at 566.36 fixed things. It might be that I changed my RAM to 4800MHz, and now I haven't crashed while playing for an hour. Should I wait for new drivers from Nvidia? Yes or no? And what was wrong so it never happens again?
